Rainbow Bud A Rock 'n Roll Tale follows the antics of Sonny Adams, a singer-songwriter, at the end of his career and the 1970’s. Sonny discovers an offbeat mountain community of hipsters after they hire him for what will become his last live gig. After a night of self-indulgence, Sonny is convinced to spend the night and soon has an intimate encounter with Pearl, a dead female rock star, chases a ghostly serial killer and falls for a local girl, a beautiful redhead named Dandy, whom he feels he may have met in another life. Sonny also learns that this eccentric communal group of Rainbow Falls may have found a way to transport back in time for a second shot at the past, with the help of the area’s unique rainbows. Rainbow Bud is an amusing and irreverent adventure, filled with quirky characters, that will transport you back to an age when free love and a rock and roll lifestyle were still the order of the day—for some. A worthy follow-up to Moore's first book, as he again shows great potential as an imaginative storyteller. My one criticism echoes what I found problematic in his previous book--the dialogue. Mr. Moore has come up with another interesting and original cast of characters, but rather than having real conversations they frequently just exchange clever one-liners. A lot of these lines are quite funny but too often seem out of place in the context of the story. If he can give each character a real and individual voice I think his work will improve immensely. One note of high praise--the main character is a singer/songwriter and Moore includes original lyrics from the character's songs. These song lyrics are really good!!Product details

A nice little story about a nice little couple who live in an amazing place with amazing things that happen. A bright and breezy read.
Fun story that has it all, sex, drugs, rock and roll with time travel thrown in! What an imaginative story. Very quick easy must read.

A very imaginative book from the perspective of someone who lived through the weirdness of the '60s and '70s. I enjoyed it!
Steven Moore delivers another delightful story! Set in a small town peopled by quirky, likable characters, Rainbow Bud is sexy, funny and as real as a 40 year acid flashback.
PS. Moore should be a songwriter. The brief verses he shares between chapters are really impressive.
